Green tea
Green tea literally burns fat — it’s not a figure of speech. Researchers attribute the fat-burning properties of green tea to catechins, specifically EGCG, the name for a group of antioxidant compounds that break down adipose tissue by speeding up metabolism, increasing the release of fat from fat cells (especially in the abdomen), and then accelerating the fat-burning capacity of the liver.
Research shows that combining regular green tea consumption with exercise can maximize the weight loss benefits. In one study, participants who combined a daily habit of drinking 4-5 cups of green tea with a 25-minute workout lost a kilo more than non-tea drinkers.
White tea
According to research, white tea not only prevents the formation of new fat cells, but also increases the body’s ability to break down and use existing fat for energy. The chemicals in this tea protect the skin from the stress caused by the sun, which can cause cell damage and premature aging.
