Any owner of a country house dreams of gas: after all, this is the cheapest and most efficient way to provide a home with heat and hot water. But is your house ready for gas connection?

4. There is a grounding in the electrical network of the house that meets the requirements for household electrical networks.

“When connecting a house to the gas network, questions about ventilation, electricity and water supply, of course, arise. But everything is solvable, – says Igor Gudov, head of the Unified Service Center of the branch of Gazprom Gas Distribution Orenburg. In practice, we sometimes face much more complex problems. For example, we were recently contacted by an applicant who wanted to connect gas from the street network on the other side of the highway. It is technically difficult to implement such a project, it requires the involvement of special equipment, and therefore its cost is quite high. As a result, the applicant was forced to abandon his plans. There was a case when, in the presence of technical feasibility, the owner of a gas pipeline in a section adjacent to the applicant refused to connect. An alternative version of the project assumed a greater length and a completely different cost, which the client did not initially count on. A refusal from our side was recently received by the owner, who built a large house in the village, where all the capacities had already been exhausted – there was simply not enough gas pressure in the pipe to connect. But in fact, such cases are very rare. As a rule, all appeals to us end happily – heat comes to urban development, and to rural houses, and to cottage settlements.

By the way, about cottage settlements. If the area of ​​​​your house is about 350 square meters. meters or more, for heating you will need powerful gas equipment. It will no longer be possible to place it in the kitchen, you need a separate room – a boiler room or a heat generator, as experts call it. It is permissible to equip such a room in the basement and basement floors of private residential buildings.

Problems of choice: wall or floor?

Another question that will have to be decided in advance is what devices will be used in a house connected to gas? And here an inexperienced buyer can get confused. The advantage of wall-mounted boilers is, first of all, their compactness, as well as the diversity of the model range. But still, this equipment is limited in maximum power and has a much shorter service life compared to floor-standing boilers, which are not limited in power, have a simpler design and allow you to create a developed and controlled heating system.”

Now let’s talk about the difference between open and closed combustion chambers: if the boiler belongs to the first option, it takes oxygen for combustion from the same room where it is installed. It is clear that such a device is best placed in a room specially designated for it, and not in the kitchen. The second version of the device, with a closed combustion chamber, is equipped with a fan for forced smoke removal, and the combustion air comes from the street or from the ventilation duct. Suppose your house is not too big, but there are two bathrooms and a sink in the kitchen. Is it really necessary to build a boiler room?

“Absolutely not necessary,” says Dmitry. – In this case, it is advisable to install a conventional double-circuit boiler. In a small house, the power of the boiler will be small, so heating equipment can be installed in the kitchen. The main thing is that the volume of this room complies with regulatory requirements.
