How to clean your house less often: we make repairs wisely

The most important thing that every housewife should remember: the more synthetics in the composition of the materials, the more they collect dust. To wash the floors less often, you need to abandon the laminate. The most practical coating is ceramic tiles or moisture-resistant parquet made of natural wood. Today, more and more often we use a robot vacuum cleaner on the farm, so it is important that there are as few overhead thresholds on the floor as possible that cover the joints. Firstly, they always collect dirt, which is quite difficult to remove, secondly, they look unaesthetic and, thirdly, they are an obstacle for the robot vacuum cleaner. To date, there are already more modern solutions. For example, you can join the flooring with cork compensator, silicone sealants, etc. Do you want to lay a carpet on the floor, but are afraid that it will become another dust collector? It all depends on the height of the pile: the higher it is, the more dust it can “absorb”. The composition is also important. Polyester and other synthetic materials are dust magnets. Choose carpets with low pile and natural materials.

It is most practical to use matting and materials that do not have a velvety structure – velor, velvet, silk. If there are animals at home, then there will definitely be clues on the upholstery. Choose materials with an uneven structure – jacquard, flock, chenille. Pay attention to water-repellent fabrics and anti-claw. The color and pattern on the fabrics allow you to hide small impurities. By the way, the same rule applies to gender. In the dirtiest place in the house – the hallway – use patterned tiles. This will hide traces of street dirt and salt stains.

Matte surfaces are much more practical than glossy ones. And open shelves collect more dust. If you still want to show the collections you have collected on the shelves, use glass doors. Facades are better to choose semi-matt, with texture and finish.

In the kitchen, smooth facades are a priority. They collect less dust than classic ones with panels. Push-to-open devices are completely impractical. A mortise or overhead handle is best. If you are on a budget, choose a laminate countertop with a stone or wood texture. Scratches are less visible on it and it washes better. The most unsuitable material for the kitchen is artificial stone: scratches are visible on it, you can not put it hot. But if you still decide to use it – choose not smooth, but interspersed. The larger they are, the less imperfections are visible on it. Relief tiles or mosaics on the kitchen apron should be small and uneven. Use epoxy grout to create a uniform surface. This will help keep moisture out of the gaps. For an apron, you can also use laminated panels or glass with an interesting pattern, which must be coated with a special water-repellent coating.

The hanging toilet will save you from the questions of how to wash the floor under it. Choose taps and showers not from glossy chrome, but from stainless steel. It shows less scale, white deposits and is easier to clean. Plumbing choose from quality materials or non-monochrome. Sinks made from cheap materials will become more difficult to clean over time, as their coating will begin to “absorb” dirt and will not last long.

The less curtains, lambrequins, brushes – the less dust. It is better to limit yourself to laconic tulle, Roman blinds in a hanging version or a straight curtain. A lot of details on a chandelier – a lot of trouble. If you like crystal, avoid multi-piece chandeliers, look for a more concise solution. It is also important to remember that the ceiling lamp bowls facing upwards are “bags” for dust. Today, the choice of lighting for the home is so wide that it will not be difficult to choose an alternative.
