Thioctic, or alpha-lipoic acid, is an antioxidant involved in many metabolic and oxidative processes in the body. The main beneficial properties of vitamin N are that it perfectly regulates carbohydrate and lipid metabolism, reduces the burden on the liver, eliminates toxins and toxins, and reduces “bad” cholesterol. Thioctic acid also binds together dangerous free radicals that increase the likelihood of inflammation and cancer, and also lowers blood glucose levels and controls the breakdown of amino acids. As you can see, this is a truly unique substance that is found in extremely limited quantities in products, so people are trying to ensure that it comes from outside, with the help of dietary supplements.

More common deficiency of thioctic acid in the female body, especially after fifty years. By this time, as a rule, every woman has her own personal “bouquet” of diseases. And vitamin N is, if not medicinal, then a prophylactic or auxiliary agent, which experts are willing to prescribe. With menopause, the likelihood of problems – with the skin, heart, blood vessels – increases, and alpha-lipoic acid acts as an optimal defense. You can take it for preventive purposes from the age of forty. It is important to calculate the optimal daily dose. As a rule, it depends on age: women under 35 – up to 50 mg per day; pregnant women – 75 mg per day; adolescents under 15 years old – 25 mg.

Lack of alpha-lipoic acid sometimes affects fertility, reducing the likelihood of conception. Doctors can prescribe this drug for infertility, but, we repeat, only a qualified specialist with a higher medical education can do this. It is not allowed to take thioctic acid on its own.

To prevent deficiency, experts recommend taking the drug at a dosage of 50-100 mg per day. There is an opinion that thioctic acid helps to lose weight. Unfortunately, it is erroneous – it helps control appetite and does not affect weight fluctuations. But the remedy has contraindications: it is increased acidity of the stomach, childhood, individual intolerance, anemia, all types of allergic reactions. Especially important information: if you have been prescribed thioctic acid, then it is forbidden to take alcohol during the reception, even in minimal doses. This can lead to bleeding disorders and seizures. And just the vitamin will not be absorbed, which will lead all efforts to zero.
